MARESME‘S TOMATO EVENTS
FROM THE 23RD OF JULY TO THE 30TH OF AUGUST

These conferences are promoted by The Consortium for Promotion of Barcelona-Maresme’s Tourist Coast with the cooperation of the Professional Association of Hospitality & Tourism from Mataró and the Maresme. The main aim of these events looks for strengthening all the kinds of crops of Maresme Region, like the Pometa or Monserrat, gives great importance to the products of the area, although some varieties of tomato come from abroad recently (as cor de bou, cirerols, pera or pebrot,…).
Tomato has a lot of benefits and nutritional attributes for the family, high content in vitamins A, B1, B2, B5 I C, in minerals as the potassium and the magnesium, and besides, antioxidant effects suitable for the ageing and the lycopene pigment which gives this red colour, very recommendable in summer.
These different dishes will be provided by the restaurants which join in these events every year, the most of these main courses will be very cooling and they can be tasted as snack, appetizer, main course or menu.
